MedWorks First Free Medical Clinic of 2012

On Saturday, February 25th, 2012, MedWorks will host our first free medical clinic of 2012. The event will take place at our new home at 6511 Fleet Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. We will be providing free general medical exams. All are welcome. Appointments will be taken through the WKYC phone bank to be scheduled in February. Walk ins will also be taken.

Update Regarding the Distribution of Eyeglasses

Many eyeglasses have been fabricated and MedWorks representatives are calling individuals to inform them of when and where they can pick up their glasses. We will post further information as we are updated!

Update Regarding the July 20th Vision Clinic Eye Glass Pick-Up

Glasses that were chosen at the July 20th Vision Clinic are being sent out to be fabricated. Please expect at least a six week delay. MedWorks will call or send out a letter to each patient explaining when and where to pick them up. We will post further information as we are updated.

Question: Do I need to bring anything with me to prove my financial status?

Answer: MedWorks does not verify any information at the clinic. There will be other community resources at the clinic who request a photo I.D. and proof of income from the last 3-12 months (tax returns, pay stubs, etc.) to better identify what types of benefits you are eligible for.

Question: I had my eyes checked recently and have a prescription. Can I just bring that and get glasses?

Answer: No, you will need to see one of the doctors at this clinic before you are able to choose your glasses.

Question: Where is Quicken Loans Arena located?

Answer: One Center Court, Cleveland, 44115

Question: How long will it take for me to be seen, have my eye exam and pick out glasses?

Answer: Please allow a minimum of two hours for this examination. As we are not taking appointments, we are unable to determine how many people will arrive on the day of the clinic and how long it will take to see each patient. We are prepared to see up to 100 patients an hour.

Question: Will you have chairs for me to sit in?

Answer: Yes

Question: Where do I park?

Answer: FREE parking for patients attending the Mass Vision Clinic will be offered at Tower City. You can access the parking garage via Canal Rd. or West 6th Street. Follow the RTA Walkway to the arena.

Question: How do I obtain the free parking voucher?

Answer: The free parking voucher will be provided when you register as a patient at the clinic.

Question: Are you seeing children at this clinic?

Answer: No, this clinic is ages 18 and up.

Question: Will you be offering contacts at this clinic? If not, can I pay for them?

Answer: No contacts will be offered at this clinic and we will not be taking any form of payment for additional features. We will offer one pair of glasses per person with standard plastic lenses in either single vision or lined-bifocal.

Question: Will I get my glasses the same day?

Answer: Many glasses will be made on site the day of the clinic as well as at different locations throughout Ohio and will be distributed to patients following the event. Please allow 6-8 weeks and MedWorks will contact patients with the date, time and location for picking them up.

Free Parking for Patients Attending the Vision Clinic on July 20th!

Free parking will be provided for patients in Tower City’s main lot. Patients should enter the lot from either Canal Rd. or West 6th and follow the signs for the RTA Walkway to the Quicken Loans Arena. Handicapped parking will be available at the Hard Rock Cafe Valet on West Huron. Vouchers for parking will be received once you arrive at the Vision Clinic. MedWorks volunteers will be stationed throughout the walkway to point you in the right direction.

Optometrists Needed on July 20th!

Medworks Literally Saved Lives

Hundreds took advantage of free medical care at the Medworks event. For the first time in it’s two year history, Medworks held a free clinic on the west side. The event was a huge success as Medworks patients had access to more than 20 medical specialties, as well as nutrition and wellness education.
